Summary: When Jesus called his disciples, He inquired about their desires, similar to our own journey of faith. Each person has unique reasons for following Him, and Jesus knows us intimately, coming close to save and support us. Andrew introduced his brother Simon to Jesus, who renamed him Peter, signifying his future role in building the church. Nathanael expressed doubt about Jesus's origins, asking, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip responded simply, "Come and see," inviting Nathanael to discover Jesus for himself. This illustrates that sharing our faith can be as simple as an invitation, rather than needing extensive knowledge or training.

      Answer: Thank you Jordon for your great question! Simon is the Hebrew name and Peter is the Greek name. Jesus gave Simon a new name in Greek, which is Peter, and which mean "rock", to signify his future role as a foundational leader of the church.

      There are other examples of people with multiple names such as Saul and Paul, Joseph and Barnabas, John and Mark and it often highlights God's transformative power giving them a new identity in Christ.

    2/2/2025 - Choosing Wisely: Lessons from the Garden of Eden

    Summary: In the story of Adam and Eve from the Bible, God created the first man, Adam, from dust and placed him in a beautiful garden known as the Garden of Eden. To keep Adam company, God created a woman named Eve from one of Adam's ribs. They were happy in the garden, but they had one important rule: they could eat from any tree except for the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.     2/16/2025 - More and More People Heard About Jesus

    Summary: In Luke 4:31-44, we see that everyone was surprised by Jesus because he taught in a really powerful way. He could tell bad spirits to go away, and they listened to him! He also helped people feel better when they were sick.  Because of all these amazing things he did, more and more people heard about him and wanted to know more! (Emerson): How can we really know if the Bible's context has changed from what went down during Jesus' time? Back then, people relied on word of mouth to share stories.
